BHK Kafe – BHK Kafe seeks to build community around food in order to “celebrate creativity, tradition, and innovation in the food arts; enjoy great, handcrafted food; and share the crafting of great food.” Using locally-sourced, organic, and gluten free ingredients, Chef David Lewis creates an artful menu of handheld fare, salads, and desserts. The menu changes seasonally and features produce grown in the restaurant’s own kitchen garden. Their location on the Fayetteville Square offers an exciting selection of cheeses — both domestic and international — served  in the restaurant or to take home; artisan coffees and teas; and regular guided wine and cheese tastings.

Bordino’s – Bordinos offers a distinctive menu of classic to eclectic cuisine from Chef Chrissy Sanderson. Chef de Cuisine, Greg, joined Bordino’s in 2009 and brings to the restaurant an expertise with local produce and seasonality. A new, seasonal menu was debuted in Spring 2010. Bordinos’ overall look and design, from the vibrant colors, the fanciful doorway with the hand cut metal light sconces, to the original lighting fixtures, is the creation of local artists Kathy Thompson and Eugene Sargent.

The Garden Bistro – The Garden Bistro’s innovative, ever-changing menu displays Chef Lana Campbell’s skills and knowledge. In addition to the food Chef Lana grows for the restaurant, she also purchases as many products as she can from other local producers. Accordingly, the Garden Bistro’s menu reflects seasonality. Housed in an old home, The Garden Bistro has taken steps to make the structure more energy efficient. Chef Lana uses very little cooking oil and therefore has no grease waste. The Garden Bistro’s allegiance to local people and products shows– every Monday is “Local’s Night.”

Green Bean – Green Bean offers healthy, often local and organic, lunchtime fare. From soups to salads, sandwiches and baked goods, Chef Sara Adams and her staff have respect for the quality of their food and respect for their customers. Green Bean offers indoor and outdoor seating. You can also find Green Bean at the Rogers Farmers’ Market on Saturdays.

Greenhouse Grille – The Greenhouse Grille in Fayetteville does much to provide their customers with local and organic products. They grow their own herbs and plans for a much bigger garden are in the works. They use heirloom ingredients when available, and also offer organic grain, when available. In addition to using LED lighting, they also use reflective paint as a way to make their efficiency lighting shine brighter. The interior of Greenhouse Grille features local art and hosts local music events about 4 times/month.

Hammontree’s – Hammontree’s uses only the best ingredients for their grilled cheeses, and sometimes this means sourcing food on a global level- many of their cheeses are imported from various countries. This being said, Hammontree’s also believes that, most of the time, many of the best ingredients are local ingredients, and they go this route whenever possible.

Ozark Natural Foods Cafe – Ozark Natural Foods Grocery Store, well known in Fayetteville for its selection of organic produce and bulk foods, also houses a small cafe which serves hot food and salad, as well as packaged items. The cafe offers locally roasted coffee, uses local produce when available, and occasionally offers local meats. The store has taken several steps to make the building more energy efficient, such as installing a rain catchment system, an insulated roof with a white membrane, and a recently constructed vestibule/airlock at the front entrance.
